ABOUT music therapy service

BACKGROUND

Laurel Parkinson founded Music Therapy Service (MTS) in 2016 to provide exemplary Music Therapy services to her community in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. 

Ms Parkinson is a Registered Music Therapist (Australian Music Therapy Association membership #: 414). She has a Bachelor Degree in Music, Master of Music Therapy Degree from University of Melbourne and certification in Neurologic Music Therapy.

APPROACH

Music Therapy Service is guided by scientific research based on Neurologic Music Therapy and Trauma-Informed-Care. The team is continually studying the latest research in these areas. In 2024 Laurel did her fellowship certification in Neurologic Music Therapy. 

MISSION

The mission of Music Therapy Service is to provide exemplary Music Therapy services to the local community of West Melbourne.
